About The Artists
Barry W. Lewis is new to the world of Abstract Expressionism. Inspired by the vibrant colors of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Barry was
moved to express himself through the use of free form and pure color. His bold, imaginative work is constantly evolving.
Spending time at his home in San Miguel, Barry flourishes in a highly
creative environment where he creates some of his most exciting
paintings. When not in San Miguel, Barry and Cecilia maintain a home
and studio in Bedminster, New Jersey where they are members of the Somerset
Art Association.
Abstract Expressionism is a movement that can be divided
into two groups: "Action Painting" typified by artists such as
Pollock & de Kooning and "Color Field" painting which is primarily
concerned with exploring the effects of pure color on a canvas.
Cecilia Lewis has been drawing and painting since she could hold a pencil or paint brush! She attended the Du Cret School of Art and has taken numerous classes in painting, watercolor, drawing, graphics and computer graphics. Cecilia owned and operated Cecilia Richel Design, a graphics design company for over 20 years. She continues to freelance and has recently completed several wall murals. She, like her husband Barry, is inspired by the colors and the creative energy of their home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She has taken many photos on their world travels and hopes to paint much of what has been captured on film. Cecilia is branching out into new areas and experimenting with acrylics. Her goal is to continue to work on residential and commercial wall interiors.
